Visual CADD 3rd Party Developers

The Software Development Kits and documentation have been updated for Visual CADD 5.

One of the great features of Visual CADD is that it has an open and very robust Applications Programming Interface (API), making it easy for software developers to write both add-on applications that enhance the VCADD interface, or completely new applications utilizing a custom interface.

With each release of the Visual CADD API, new functions and routines are introduced, usually mirroring features added to the newest retail version. Other routines --not available in the interface-- are sometimes added at the request of 3rd party developers.

The Software Developer Kits (SDK) listed below include all the new calls and routines introduced in Visual CADD 5. A new API Help file is also available. We will be posting updates of the help file occasionally as we correct mistakes and add information.

The version 5.0.1 Kits:
C/C++ SDK:  Source code and instructions to use the v5 Visual Cadd development engine with  C/C++  (Size: 73K)
Visual Basic SDK: Source code and instructions to use the v5 Visual Cadd development engine with Microsoft Visual Basic 6. (Size: 40K)
Delphi/Pascal SDK: Source code and instructions to use the v5 Visual Cadd development engine with Delphi or Pascal (Size: 66K)
VCADD5 API Help: The API help file has been ported to HTML and updated to include new v5 and v4 calls. (Size: 1.4MB). Last update: February 10, 2005

We maintain a legacy version of the API for users developing an older version of Visual CADD:

The version 4.0 Kits:
 C/C++ modules:  Everything needed to use the Visual Cadd engine with  C/C++  (Size: 201K)
Visual Basic modules: Everything needed to use the Visual Cadd engine with Microsoft Visual Basic. (Size: 92K)
Delphi/Pascal modules: Everything needed to use the Visual Cadd engine with Delphi or Pascal (Size: 48K)
 VCADD API Help: This is a Windows Help file version of the 3.0.1 API. A version 4 help was never released. Download the v5 Help file above for a description of the v4 calls. (Size: 512k) 
 VCLink source:
 Source code for VCLink.dll. Note that the current VCLink32.dll is included in the C/C++ modules so you only need this download if you explicitly link to VCADD by including the .cpp files in your projects. (Size: 78K)
