TriTools lets you edit existing vector fonts. This is particularly helpful when you convert Generic CADD or AutoCAD fonts, because often the special characters (degree symbol and fractionals, for instance) need to be moved to a different ASCII number in order to be consistent.
Our Preview Open dialog --which is a direct replacement for the Visual CADD FileOpen-- gives you the option of opening a vector font file (.vcf) in a Visual CADD drawing. From there you can edit the font. The picture below shows you a small part of a drawing with the Aec_tech font --all characters would be shown in the VCADD drawing.
The actual vector font characters --which are made up of simple objects such as lines, arcs, curves, and other objects that you can edit-- are on one layer. The "guides" are on a separate layer, and include the bounding box and the various solid and dotted lines used as guidelines to edit your font characters. When you open a .vcf file, All Layer Edit (AL) is turned off in VCADD, so that you can make changes to your Vector font and keep the guides onscreen to help your editing without worrying about messing them up. When you finish you're returned to whatever your AL status was.

Several VCADD vector fonts have the option of having all the characters fillable or nonfillable. TriTools font editing now allow you to mix things up --to specify any character as fillable or nonfillable. This is helpful when, for example, you have fonts where you want the letters to be filled but have special characters that should not be filled.
